Hosting a Bingo Party
Whether a person plays bingo online or in a hall, they are likely to meet some friends while playing the game. You can meet numerous people in a land-based setting and you can even make friends over the Internet too. And, provided you and the friends you’ve met are really into bingo, a great way to get together and have a good time is by hosting a bingo party.
But having a bingo party isn’t as easy as it sounds since you have to do more than just invite people over. You’ll also have to properly plan it out and that means doing the things it takes to make your bingo party a success.
Finding a machine
No one is going to have a good time at the party if your bingo game isn’t authentic so that means you can’t just throw a bunch of balls in a box and start pulling them out. Instead, you need to find a bingo machine which can be kind of tough to do depending on where you live. Fortunately, there are quite a few churches which have bingo machines since games have long been held in churches.
You may be able to convince a church to allow you to use their machine as long as you’re holding the game for nonprofit reasons. Even if you are hosting a bingo party where money is involved, you might be able to get the machine by promising to donate a certain percentage to the church in exchange for usage of their machine.
If you happen to be a member of a church with a bingo machine then you might really be in luck. There are also community halls that host bingo games too so if you happen to be friends with those in charge of the games then you could borrow a machine that way too.
Unfortunately, you might not be able to find a church or bingo hall that is willing to lend their machine to you so you’ll really have to do some work to dig one up. There are a number of stores at both online and physical locations that specialize in bingo supplies.
Places such as these are bound to solve your problem of finding a bingo machine, but you’ll have to be prepared to open your bank book to do so. And if you do buy a bingo machine, make sure that you’ll be hosting enough bingo parties in the future to make the purchase worthwhile.
Provide other supplies
If you can either borrow a bingo machine or buy one then you’re one step closer to hosting a great bingo party. But you’ll still need to make sure that everyone has the proper supplies to play the game with. First and foremost, this means buying enough bingo tickets, or cards, so everyone can play multiple games. Much like machines, the tickets can also be found in stores featuring bingo supplies but, unlike the machines, they won’t cost a bunch of money.
If you really want to get creative with the tickets then you can have things printed on them by taking the tickets to a local print shop. Also, make sure people have some way to mark the numbers on their tickets too whether this means providing pens, beans, etc.
Have food and drinks ready
One of the major reasons for hosting a bingo party is to make sure everyone is relaxed and having a good time. Otherwise, why would people want to come to your bingo party when they could just play online at their house or in a hall? So you’ll want to be sure and provide some snacks and drinks for your guests while they’re playing. You’ve got to know the people you’re inviting over too in case you are thinking of providing alcohol amongst the drinks.
Also, you might also put on some music while the bingo is being played as long as you don’t play it too loud. If you are able to do all of these things just right then your bingo party should be a huge success!
