Differences Between Online Bingo and Live Bingo
When most people think of Bingo, they pretty much take it for granted that it is played the same no matter what setting the game is taking place in. There will be differences from country to country such as the amount of spaces offered on the card but, in general, Bingo should be a pretty universal concept. At least that's what one would tend to think anyways. However, there are some differences when it comes to playing live Bingo versus the online version of the game.
Filling out the Card
As previously mentioned, the cards will differ depending on the region the game is being played in but, for the purposes of this article, we'll focus on the 5 space by 5 space model. In live Bingo, you have to mark the numbers on your 5 X 5 card yourself whereas some online versions pamper people by automatically filling in called out spaces. But there are other online sites that will make a person mark the spaces themselves so be aware of this too.
The Number Calling
You won't have the friendly number caller (or maybe not so friendly) at your local Bingo hall taking care of the numbers. This real person has been replaced by a computer voice and, in some cases, the numbers will be flashing on the screen after they are revealed. This is not the only difference though as the Bingo ball cages that shoot the numbers out are also simply replaced with random number calls.
Claiming a Winner
Using the 5 X 5 cards, a player will win when they get five covered squares in a row, column, or diagonal. And in live Bingo, a player who happens to accomplish this feat gets the luxury of thundering out "Bingo" when their card hits. But on the computer, players once again get spoiled like with the filling out of the card when the computer will automatically give the Bingo call for you. There are still exceptions on certain sites though where a player will have to claim the Bingo call on their own.
Game Convenience
There's always an element of camaraderie offered by live Bingo that online Bingo just can't compare to. After all, who are you going to have a conversation with while you're playing the game over the Internet? On the other hand though, the camaraderie offered by live Bingo is quickly offset by the fact that the game is only available at certain times of the day. In contrast, online Bingo is offered 24/7 and thus a person can play at anytime they choose to participate.
Bonuses
It would be nice if a live Bingo hall offered players a big bonus just for choosing to play at their room. However, a lot of live Bingo venues are simply running the game for small profit or charity purposes. However, if one can find a quality online casino offering Bingo they will most likely be rewarded with a generous deposit bonus. Some of these deposit bonuses may be equal to a whopping 250% of the initial deposit (up to a certain limit of cash) or more.
Side Games
A lot of skilled or veteran Bingo players would be bored to death by playing just one card at a time. That's one reason why most of them play multiple cards at a time so that they have more things going on at once to keep themselves occupied. With online Bingo at some sites, players actually have the chance to do more than just play multiple cards. They can play other games! Certain sites allow people to take part in things like video poker, online chats, slots, etc. This definitely gives people a little something extra on the side to keep busy with.
