2008 WSOP Final Table

What would you do with your spare time? Now that the 2008 WSOP Final Table has been set the players have nothing but time on their hands. Some will use it wisely while others will get caught up in the media hype and the fact that they already have $900,000 in their pockets. To most of these players that kind of money is more than a big pay day. It’s life changing to just about everyone that will be watching and playing in this event.

If I were in their positions I would have a few things on my to do list. Here is how I would approach the biggest Final Table of my life:

  1. Continue to play poker consistently to stay sharp and fine tune your game.
  2. Consult with a couple of professional players whom you respect.
  3. Keep the media appearances to a minimum. (There will be plenty of opportunities if you actually WIN the tournament)
  4. Watch any video that may be available on my opponents.
  5. Watch Final Table video from previous Main Events
  6. Take it easy and enjoy the experience

That would just about do it for me. Nothing too fancy and certainly nothing anyone else wouldn’t likely have on their mind too. All these players need to do is be smart about what they are doing over the next few months and everything should work out fine. The slightest little blip will be all over the media and it may not be favorable. So, be careful about what you are doing and whom you are doing it with as you approach November 9th for the Final Table. November 10th will have the last two players going heads up for the Bracelet and $9 Million dollar first prize.

Good Luck!
