2009 WSOP is just days away

It's that time of the year again. The World Series of Poker 2009 will be starting in just a few more days. Hard to believe that it's here already. This is the time of year when every poker player of every skill level come to Las Vegas to battle it out face to face. There will be some surprises and there will certainly be plenty of disappointments. I suppose the economy will play a bit of a role again in this years WSOP as I suspect that there will not be as many players in it as last. However, with all of the satellites available I am sure that it will still have its share of entries in all of the tournaments.

I will be looking forward to the Championship H.O.R.S.E. event as it always seems to bring out the best of the best. As much as I enjoy watching the Main Event and all the drama that goes on in the process I still believe the 50k H.O.R.S.E event is the true show of whom the best overall player in the game of poker is at that time. I figure Ivey, Brunson, Bloch, Nguyen, and Lindgren will all be circling the Final Table at some time during this tournament and I look forward to seeing another spectacular finish. The re-buy tournaments have all but been eliminated this year. I can't say I will miss them as it becomes about who has the biggest bankroll more than who can play the best poker. Eithe way this years WSOP should be a lot of fun. Enjoy!
