Keep your chips alive!

Over the holidays I managed to make 3 final tables. Yes, I walked away with some very nice cashes but I also walked away knowing that even though when things were not going my way I hung in there. You will find that when you are playing in poker tournaments you will be short stacked more often than not. Being short stacked is not necessarily a death sentence but it is obviously something you need to be conscious of. You never want to be so short that your opponents no longer have to respect your bets. So that means that you need to become even more aggressive than normal in order to rebuild your stack.

This is how I was ableto last as long as I did to double up again and then double up a second time to get right back in the tournament. You have to be willing to put it all on the line with marginal hands at that point. What do you have to lose if you are already short? Nothing. So it's your job to pick off limpers when you have that small pair or suited connectors. Put your chips in action and see what happens. If your stack is alive you have an opportunity to win poker tournaments. Once your chips become stagnant you have no chance.
