Improving Your Game - Tip #4
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that this one has worked both for me, and against me. And, while it doesn't exactly deal with improving your actual game in a technical aspect, it does help with the psychological one: Flirting.I can't tell you the number of times I've flirted with a guy during a game and he got totally flustered to the point of not paying attention. I've flirted with men I liked, I've flirted with men I loathed. It didn't matter - I was being effective. Anybody who doesn't think there is a psychological aspect to the game of poker is a blooming idiot. It works. Trust me.
It works so well, that, as I said, it's been used against me, too. There is one man in particular who can make me fold Pocket Aces without even knowing it. (Ok, maybe not Pocket Aces, but you get what I'm saying.) He's a friend of mine, and when he's on his game, he can totally get mine off - and vice versa. I find I either do really well when we're at a table together, or I'm done way too quickly. We joke about this "relationship" we have - and we're glad we use it for good and not evil.
Maybe it's a wink, or a stare, or a touch, or a lean, or words*, either way, flirting will definitely help your game - and possibly even more then just your game at the felt!
