Harrah's Is Horrible!

It seems like lately, not matter what casino I’ve gone to, I’ve had some pretty bad experiences. However, recently I stepped foot into the Harrah’s Casino in North Kansas City, and I have to tell you – Harrah’s is horrible!

I’ve been to other Harrah’s casinos before. While I don’t think they’re the best casinos in the world, I have no problem going to them, and have found them enjoyable. I would have never consciously planned a trip JUST to visit a Harrah’s, and that’s even more accurate after my last Harrah’s visit.

I had been driving for about 9 hours straight and was in desperate need of a good “leg stretching”. There had been a sign on the freeway advertising for Harrah’s, so I figured I’d stop to check it out, get my leg stretching, then be on my way.

Once inside, I hit up the roulette tables. It didn’t take long for me to notice that once the croupier called “no more bets” there was a guy continued to throw chips down – and they allowed it! This didn’t just happen once, but multiple times. People were actually leaving the table because of the man’s poor etiquette, and it didn’t make the croupier look very good, either.

Additionally, three spins in a row they called a “no spin” – and each time, the follow up spin just “happened” to fall on “zero”. Oh, really?

But the biggest problem I experienced was when I sat down to the poker table. I had just had a poor experience at my favorite casino in Michigan, Soaring Eagle, so I was really hoping for a good time here. Unfortunately, the dreams fell short. Right off the bat, the dealer misdealt. Not once. Not twice. Not even three times. No, it was FOUR times in a row before the deal finally got the proper cards to the proper players, face down. I couldn’t believe it! The first time I said to myself, “It happens; Even with the pros.” The second time I thought, “Ok, well, the first time put them off their game, that’s all.” The third time, I started to wonder who had died, or who had broke up with who. By the fourth time, I was blaming myself for even sitting there anymore.

I stayed for that fifth deal (no idea why) and played out the hand. I made $9, and decided to leave. I don’t know if it was just that particular day, or a common trend, but Harrah’s was just plain horrible!
