So far, the series of 58 poker events has captivated a global audience of players, poker fans and casino aficionados. The veritable rush associated with high-stakes Texas Hold’em is showing no signs of slowing down and more players are taking to the WSOP than ever before.

Here at 777.com we’ve got the latest scoop on all the fun facts, figures and news results as they happen, when they happen. Informed poker fans, poker gaming pundits and veterans of Hold’em are here to add input and provide feedback on this most extraordinary series of poker tournaments at the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino. With barely a few days to go before the much-anticipated Main Event, players are rushing to build chip stacks and gain the ascendancy over their competition.

Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan and Phil Helmuth are the focal point of many poker players during this 42nd annual poker contest. These big-three poker titans are locked in battle to out-muscle one another. The Poker Brat – aka Hellmuth – is looking to win his 12th WSOP gold bracelet, but standing in his way is the Godfather of Poker – Brunson himself and the legendary Johnny Chan. The final poker table will be streamed live when the game reaches 7-handed play status.

The Extraordinary Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino

Set in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is the hottest gaming destination in Vegas at the moment. Perched in an ethereal setting in 3700 West Flamingo Road, this massive entertainment paradise has set up 380 poker tables for this glittering event. Everything players can ask for is here – in abundance.  Buy-ins to the poker games range from $500 to $50,000, certainly not chump change, but big enough to be taken seriously.

The Purported Butterfly Effect Pays a Visit

It is said that nothing happens in isolation – and especially not in poker. So when the 31st May rolled around and Seat 6 at Table 278 got a wake-up call from fate, a great story was about to unfold. Brian Rast – who returned from Brazil – arrived in Vegas on the 9th June. His buddy Antonio Esfandiari bankrolled him and low and behold, Rast won a massive $227,232 in the $1,500 buy-in Pot Limit Hold’em Championship. It appears that the luck of the casinos was on their sides!

The Butterfly Effect

This is a pretty interesting story here. I'm not one to go all spaced-out on how things happen - especially with good luck and so forth, but I do believe that there is something in it. Let's call it circumstance and happenstance and coincidence or maybe even serendipity. I've got my own bingo blog and I work hard to promote the game for players and readers alike. And whenever there's a big win, I make sure to report on it. So thanks for your hard work here 777 - I like to read up about the WSOP 2011 too! Almost over but not quite - check out my www.bingo-room.com too if you can Take it easy! Jeremy Stersky
