007 is Back! – Learn how to emulate him in the casino

Whether he’s gambling, saving the day, or simply getting the girl James Bond has long set the standard of cool for both men and women. We’ll get to see the suave 007 back in action again when his new movie – Quantum of Solace – hits theatres worldwide. Unfortunately, those of us who frequent casinos will also see plenty of James Bond wannabes trying to copy his style once again. But the truth is: You might end up looking like a cookie-cutter secret agent if you don’t pull off the James Bond look in the right way. So here’s a look at what you need to look exactly like 007 himself - minus the model-like looks.

Suit

Sure, James Bond dresses down when he’s around the pool or hanging out in his hotel, but the classic Bond look is the dark suit, silk undershirt, and thin black tie. But don’t think that you can’t just grab any $100 black suit off of the rack at your local store. The new 007 – Daniel Craig – has his suits specially designed by the European clothing line Tom Ford which is based in London and Antwerp, Belgium. Be prepared to get your wallet out, though, because these suits cost well over ₤1,000! And with casino gaming being one of his favourite activities, be prepared to go wild with James Bond.

Shoes

The impossibly polished black moccasins that Daniel Craig wears in Quantum of Solace are not so impossible to get a hold of – just pretty expensive. The Church’s Philip shoes he wears are made by Herring Shoes and cost ₤395 to purchase. he good news about all of this is that people won’t have to travel to Antwerp or London to get these, since they’re sold on Herring Shoes’ website. Yes Bond casino gaming shoes are sweet, sturdy and stylish!

Shades

When not in the casino, James Bond can sometimes be found with a pair of shades on. In Quantum of Solace, Craig will be wearing another Tom Ford piece, the Model 108 sunglasses. Those who don’t have the ₤250 to drop on these blue-tinted shades can get away with the Oliver Peoples Airman shades which look the same and are about half the price.

Cologne

It’s pretty hard to copy James Bond’s style if you smell like garbage. You’ll smell the opposite of garbage if you purchase the classic Floris No.89 cologne for ₤45 from the Floris shop in London. This fragrance has a citrus smell with hints of sandalwood, rose, and oakmoss mixed in.

Watch

No 007 outfit would be complete without a great watch to compliment it. And the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co-Axial Chronometer used by Craig in Quantum of Solace is definitely a great watch to have. The watch features a stainless steel case and has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal in it as well. Watch out when he's playing poker at the casinos and online - he's cool!

Drink

Aside from ordering the famous vodka martini shaken not stirred, James Bond also has a few other choice drinks he orders. One of them is Dom Perignon Champagne which he drinks in many different movies. Another favorite drink of Bond’s is Bollinger Champagne which he tasted in Casino Royale and will be drinking again in Quantum of Solace. And in case you’re wondering what vodka 007 uses for his martinis, it is Smirnoff Vodka Red.

Car

You’re not going to be driving into the casino with your car, but you can still impress plenty of people on the street in one of the fancy automobiles that Bond commonly drives. He’s driven several Ashton Martin models over the years including the DBS, Vanquish V12, DB5, and the V8 Vantage Series III. The BMW has been another popular car model in Bond films with the 750iL, BMW Z8, and Z3 all making appearances.

Games

In addition to dressing and accessorizing like James Bond, you can look even more like him by playing the games commonly featured in his films. Texas Hold’em made its first appearance into the Bond franchise when it was used as the game of choice in the movie Casino Royale. The novel of Casino Royale and the movie Goldeneye also make reference to Baccarat being a favorite of Bond’s. But perhaps no game trumps Blackjack when you’re discussing 007, since the game has appeared in numerous Bond movies throughout the years.
