The Best Blackjack System

The Best Blackjack System

Judging from the title, you might think this article is all about card counting since it’s obviously the best way to beat the casino in blackjack. Unfortunately, casinos don’t take kindly to card counters, and online gamblers don’t have the option of card counting so we’ll stay away from that subject.

Instead, this is a look at the different casino  blackjack betting systems and which one is the best system. After reading this, you may be very surprised at which system comes out on top.

Martingale System

The Martingale system is one of the oldest and most tested betting systems in the world. And the great thing about the Martingale system is that it’s extremely easy to use. All you need to do with this system is double your bets after every loss. For instance, if you were playing $25 blackjack, you would start out with a one unit wager. If you lost that bet, you would double your next wager to $50; if that bet lost, the next wager would be $100.

Theoretically, you would never lose money by using the Martingale system as long as your bankroll was large enough to keep doubling bets after losses. But this is why casinos have betting limits so that blackjack players aren’t tempted to use the Martingale system. If you keep using the Martingale system, eventually you’re going to lose enough times where you’ll hit the table betting limit…..then you’re in for some big losses!

LaBouchere System

The LaBouchere system is a little more complicated than the Martingale system since it is a negative progression system. To start with the LaBouchere system, you write down a series of numbers such as 1, 2, 2, 4, 6, 7; there is really no right or wrong way to write the numbers, but just make sure they progress upwards and aren’t too big.

Once you’re done writing down the numbers, you use the first and last numbers of the string to determine your next casino bet. In the aforementioned string of numbers, your first wager would be 8 units (1 + 7). If you win the wager, you cross out the first and last number before moving on to the next first and last number (2 + 6). The goal is to keep winning until you have crossed out all of the numbers and have made a profit. If you lose a bet, you write the number of units that you bet at the end of the number string without crossing anything out. After you’ve done this, your new bet would be 9 units (1 + 8).

In regards to the effectiveness of the LaBouchere system, it can be just as faulty as the Martingale system because you are making large casino bets in the beginning, and could eventually reach the table limit after several losses in a row.

Parlay System

Those who love cashing in on their winning casino sessions really like the Parlay system. That’s because every time you win with the Parlay system, you take some of your profits and add them to the next wager. The amount of profit you use with the next bet all depends on your preference. So if you won a $25 bet, you could take $15 dollars of the winnings and make a $40 wager next. If you lose a bet, you go down to the original base unit of what you were wagering.

The good thing about the Parlay system is that it doesn’t put players into a hole when they keep losing. However, it can also keep you from banking profits if you keep losing with the larger bets.

Flat Betting

Flat betting is by far the easiest blackjack system to use. All you need to do with the flat betting system is keep making the same casino bet over and over again at the table. So if you’re playing $5 blackjack, you can just keep wagering $5.

Flat betting is often used as the measuring stick when judging the effectiveness of other gambling systems. Interestingly enough, no gambling system has ever been proven to be better than flat betting. If you use correct strategy when flat betting, you can even bring the house edge down below 1%. The only real downside to flat betting is that it’s boring when compared to the rest of the casino systems.
