Top 10 Gambling Cities in the World
1. Las Vegas
Sin City still remains perched atop the gambling world due to its large volume of glamorous casinos, riveting entertainment and plush resorts. Some of the fabulous hotel & casinos that you’ll find in Las Vegas include the Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Harrah’s, the Wynn, Excalibur, Paris, Caesars Palace and the Venetian. What’s amazing is that this is only a small sample of the casino resorts in Vegas! Other perks of Las Vegas include their world-famous restaurants, critically acclaimed shows, family-oriented attractions and huge outlet malls.
While Las Vegas remains the number one gambling city in the world, Macau is gradually moving towards the top spot. This special administrative region of China is already home to 33 casinos – including the world’s largest casino in the Venetian Macau – and another two dozen casinos that are currently in the works. Much like Las Vegas, Macau also offers plenty of additional entertainment besides gambling such as shows and fine dining. Last year, Macau actually managed to bring in the more gambling revenue than any other city including Vegas.
3. Atlantic City
Though Atlantic City has struggled in recent years, they still have a firm grasp on the number three spot among the world’s top gambling cities. Atlantic City offers many of the major hotel & casinos including the Bellagio, the Wynn, Harrah’s, Caesars Palace and the Borgata. Visitors to Atlantic City love the boardwalk area and numerous shops throughout the city too. You’ll also find some of the biggest names in entertainment performing in the various casinos here.
As one of the world’s most historic cities, London isn’t necessarily looked at as a gambling destination. However, the home of Big Ben and Buckingham Palace is also home to over 25 different casinos. What sets London apart from other gambling cities is the fact that they offer some of the most lavish and ritzy venues in the world. Les Ambassadeurs Club, the Ritz, Crockfords Club, the Clermont Club and the Colony Club are among the world’s most exclusive gambling establishments, and gaining membership is well worth the effort. There are also plenty of casinos in London that are accessible to the public.
5. Monte Carlo
There is no better combination of breathtaking scenery/gambling than what Monte Carlo has to offer. The hills of Monte Carlo provide gamblers with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. Some of the casinos in this city are equally as impressive as the views since they offer visitors a nice mixture of class and entertainment. And it’s always a plus to gamble at some of the same casino features in the James Bond movies!
6. Nassau, Bahamas
Did we just say that Monte Carlo offers the best combination of scenery and gambling in the world? Well that statement is debatable seeing as how Nassau offers people some pretty impressive views of the Caribbean Sea. Of the casinos in Nassau, the Atlantis on nearby Paradise Island is a must visit with its infinite gambling opportunities, hot dance clubs and unique architecture. Even if you’re not a serious gambler, Nassau is an excellent city to visit because of its beaches and golf courses alone.
Singapore is a relatively new city in the casino game, but they’ve opened with a bang thanks to the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World casinos. Marina Bay Sands grabbed news headlines everywhere after building a 2,500-room hotel in addition to a 3-acre SkyPark; the SkyPark offers a swimming pool, gardens, nightclubs and rooftop restaurants. Resorts World doesn’t have a SkyPark, but they do offer visitors a Universal Studios theme park in addition to a very impressive casino. With everything that’s offered at these two casinos, most gamblers won’t even bother visiting attractions around Singapore.
8. Los Angeles
Much like London, Los Angeles will never be known as a gambling capital first. After all, Hollywood, endless beaches and lavish mansions already make a name for the City of Angels. However, it’s pretty hard to deny Los Angeles’ gambling presence when they offer plenty of quality card clubs and casinos. The Bicycle Casino and Commerce Casino are two of the most popular gambling establishments here, while there are quite a few other casinos in the city. If you ever plan on visiting Los Angeles, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the gambling action here.
While online gambling still faces an uphill battle in France, the city of Paris has welcomed several casinos into the area. The most notable casino here is no doubt the Aviation Club de France, which offers various table games and a nice contemporary interior; several other casinos are housed in the City of Love too. Couple the gambling scene with such famous attractions as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre and the French Riviera, and you’ve got an excellent gambling city.
10. Reno, Nevada
While most people who visit Nevada will most likely head to Las Vegas, Reno is yet another attractive gambling option in this desert state. Known as the World’s Biggest Little City, there is nothing little about the number of casinos here. There are over 20 casinos in Reno, including Circus Circus, Atlantis Casino and the Grand Sierra. Unfortunately, some casinos have been closed due to heavy competition from Indian reservation and Los Angeles casinos. But that still doesn’t prevent Reno from rounding out our list of the top 10 casino cities.
