What are the 7 weirdest gambling types?

There are gamblers among us whose habits are unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Imagine behaviour so bizarre that you can’t help but take notice. We call them oddballs, but for these punters their outlandish rituals are the staple of their gambling ways. Join 777.com as we delve knee-deep into this delicious mix of colourful characters!

For many of us, our annual pilgrimage to our favourite casino is a star-studded affair. There’s more fun per square foot in a casino than anywhere else. But it’s all those colourful characters that give life to these gaming meccas.

From 1 thru 7 here there are

  1. Kicking off proceedings are those Texas-style gamblers. You know the type – the folks who come stomping into the casino, with their arms puffed up at their sides. Someone should have told them that the Wild West is yonder over the horizon. These guys have the drawl, the financial firepower and the all the charm of snake oil salesmen. They’re just oozing with blunderbuss and haughtiness, but the crowds love em. They’ll eyeball you, they’ll holler but they’re plenty generous with their bar tab. Schmooze with them and you’ll have your meals and drinks bankrolled all night long.
  2. The secret-agent gambler – we all know this type. These folks enter the casino trying to be as discreet as possible – but we all know they’re acting. They may come dressed in long coats with detective hats on. They cower in a corner somewhere, playing the one-arm bandit that’s reserved for them in the smokers’ section of the casino. Their eyes dart around from table to table as they search out the big-paying tables.
  3. Hawaii-style gamblers. These folks aren’t half as weird as they are prolific. These are your typical holiday gamblers. They wear those colourful floral shirts, baggy pants and cheap sandals. They’re often reeking of sunscreen and a tot-too-much of cheap brandy and coke. They’re on a shoestring budget, but they act like their checks can bounce banks.
  4. Lucky charm gamblers are a laugh a minute. They’re as noticeable as a red scarf on a flagpole in the Arctic Circle. These folks will be rubbing their coins against the sides of slot machines multiple times before they deposit them – in the hopes of generating some metaphysical lucky break. They’ll roll the Craps dice in the most profound manner with all sorts of wrist contortions, air whistles and flamboyant techniques. Believe it or not there are several folks who wear stylish socks, weird underwear or even lucky rabbits’ feet on their person.
  5. Tight gamblers are the bizarros. These guys will come in with virtually no playing budget and they’ll play so tight that they squeak as they move from machine to machine. Don’t expect to find them at the baccarat tables – because their games are the 5 cent slots at third-rate casinos.
  6. Al Caponers – these are the gamblers who come in groups. They probably are from organized business cartels, but nobody dares ask them. Their faces are shrouded behind a veil of wafting cigarette smoke and their voices are nothing more than hushed tones. These guys are dropping hundred dollar bills like they’re going out of fashion and they more often than not have VIP status at all venues they frequent. If you spot a supermodel or two alongside them – you’ve probably hit the nail on the head!
  7. Me – that’s right, you! We’re all quirky in one way or another and there’s no point denying it. Maybe you like to play poker before you play blackjack, or maybe you like to watch how many black numbers come up on the roulette wheel before a red one hits – you’re in contention for a slot on the 7 weirdest gambling types!
