Casino Canberra is located in Glebe Park, Canberra, within a complex that includes Casino Canberra, Crowne Plaza Hotel, National Convention Centre and The Royal Theatre.
Casino Canberra's interior and furnishings are colorful and resemble European style casinos, but with a sociable atmosphere, inviting and relaxed. It was completely refurbished in 2001 and now has 39 gaming tables and facilities which include a Poker Lounge and Sports Lounge, two bars and a restaurant.
As the only casino in Canberra, the capital of Australia, Casino Canberra offers all the games a good casino should: poker, blackjack, American roulette, Sic-Bo, Pai Gow, Mini-Baccarat, with table minimums as low as $2. The casino does not however, offer slot machines or video poker machines.
The casino sports a variety of regular tournaments for blackjack and a wide selevtion of poker games: Texas Holdem, Omaha, Manila, Draw Poker and 7 Card Stud. In order to play in the tournaments you must be club member which is free for locals.
There is a $60 entry blackjack tournament every second Monday and every Thursday the casino holds a popular $90 entry No Limit Texas Holdem poker tournament.
Casino Canberra also offers its members special benefits including bonus points which can be redeemed for prizes such as casino merchandise, meals, show discounts and gaming vouchers. Other giveaways and special offers are given out regularly to the casino's members and subscribers.
The casino is not limited just to gambling and features entertainment inside the casino itself with dinner and a show packages or shows at the neighboring Royal and Canberra Theatres.
Other attractions include the Grill Braserrie, that overlooks the Glebe Park in the center of Canberra, a Sports bar and the Deja vu function room - a classy venue which offers a full bar, dance floor, production facilities and a capacity of up to 400 guests cocktail style.
