Editorial Review

Everest Poker is an online poker site based in Canada. They offer multi-national and multi-lingual poker rooms, where people from all over the world can play Texas Holdem Poker.

Everest Poker uses some easy to install client software to connect to their games. When you visit the site you will be presented with the option to download the client. The download attempts to start automatically, which could cause security warnings in some browsers; however a quick virus scan should confirm to you that the file is safe to run.

The client is quite easy to use – the graphics are not as sophisticated as those found in some other casino and poker clients, but navigation is clear, and the client should run even on most older systems.

The site has a tutorial which guides you through starting the client, selecting a game type, and joining a room.

Everest poker offers all the usual things you would expect from a poker room – free practice plays, Omaha and Texas Holdem games, tournaments, and various money games including no limit, pot limit and fixed limit versions.

You can observe games without registering on the site, however if you wish to play you will need to create an account. When you join the site you are eligible for a welcome bonus worth $100 – the bonus is converted to cash as you play and earn 'Summit points'. These points are similar to comp points at many other online casinos, and serve as a loyalty bonus – the more you play, the more points you earn.

Everest Poker offers a training room where you can learn the basics of poker. In the training room you are playing against computer players, and the games are free, so you are not risking any money. This takes the pressure off while you are still learning the ropes.

Everest Poker seems to take pride in offering a fair and safe environment for their poker games. They use approved random number generators and an approved shuffle system to keep their games free of cheating.    They also use secure 128bit encryption for their payment processors.

To protect you from losing out on a hand should your computer lose connection, they offer 'disconnect bet protection' – this system ensures that if you lose connection to the server during a hand, you will be treated as 'all in' for the amount you have in the pot for that hand. They have precautions in place to ensure that people do not try to abuse this feature to gain an advantage, but it is a nice feature for people who are worried about playing for real money if their connection is not totally stable.
