Omaha is a poker variant that is very similar to Texas Hold'em. Players use pocket cards (cards that only they see) and community cards, which all players can use to form the highest ranking hand.
There are four betting rounds:
Preflop – Two face-down cards are dealt to each player
Flop – Three community cards are dealt faced up
Turn – A fourth community card is dealt face down
River – A fifth and final community card is dealt face down
Omaha has the same rules as Texas Hold'em except for these main differences:
Preflop – Two face-down cards are dealt to each player
Flop – Three community cards are dealt faced up
Turn – A fourth community card is dealt face down
River – A fifth and final community card is dealt face down
Omaha has the same rules as Texas Hold'em except for these main differences:
- Players cannot Play the board, meaning a player cannot use only the community cards, without any of the hole (pocket) cards, as his or her hand.
- Instead of two pocket cards that are dealt to players in Texas Hold'em, players get four pocket cards.
- In order to form the best hand, a player must use two pocket cards (out of the four he has) along with three community cards.
- Omaha can be played by a maximum of 10 players, instead of 11 as in Texas Hold'em.
