Harman is best known as a cash game player, although she has enjoyed a lot of success on the tournament circuit in recent years. She is the only woman to hold two bracelets in the World Series of Poker open events.
She has a total of 19 money finishes in the World Series of Poker, and 2 bracelets. Her first bracelet came in 2000, when she played at the No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball event. She had not played that particular game before the event, but was given a five minute tutoring session by Howard Lederer before the game started.
Her second bracelet was earned in 2002, at the $5k Limit Hold'em event.
She was forced to take a break from poker in 2004 to have a kidney transplant. Kidney problems run in her family, and her sister and mother suffered from the same illness. Her mother died because of kidney problems when Harman was 17 years old. Harman founded a non-profit organization called CODA (Creating Organ Donation Awareness) in order to encourage people to donate organs, and to raise money for the cause.
Since returning to poker, Harman has increased her number of World Poker Tour money finishes to 10, with a 4th place finish at the WPT Five-Diamond World Poker Classic. She also finished 5th at the first Professional Poker Tour event. She was also the runner up at the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe – losing to Thomas Bihl in the HORSE event.
Harman is a member of 'Team Full Tilt', and plays online exclusively at Full Tilt Poker. She wrote the chapter on Limit Hold'em for the updated version of Doyle Brunson's book Super System II.
She has made several television appearances, including one on the GSN series High Stakes Poker. She won the Week 8 tournament of the NBC show Poker After Dark.
So far, she has won more than $1,850,000 from live tournaments.
