Michael Mizrachi is a professional poker player from Miami, Florida. He was born on January 5th 1981, and is often referred to by his nickname, 'The Grinder'. Professional poker is something of a family occupation for the Mizrachis - He is the younger brother of Robert Mizrachi, and twin brother of Eric Mizrachi, who are both also professional poker players. He also has a younger brother, Daniel, who is a professional magician.
Mizrachi had childhood ambitions to become a doctor, but dropped out of college when he discovered poker and decided that he wanted to play it full time.
Michael Mizrachi has won the World Poker Tour on two occasions, and has made the final table four times. He has also managed 10 money finishes in the World Series of Poker, but has yet to earn a bracelet in any of the events. His second World Poker Tour win saw him defeating names such as John D'Agostino and Erick Lindgren to win a prize of more than $1,100,000, and a Cadillac Escalade.
He won the CardPlayers Magazine 'Player of The Year' Award in 2006, and appeared in Season Two of the High Stakes Poker TV Show.
Michael is married, and has a son and a daughter. He currently lives in Hollywood, Florida. He is reported to like to have his family close to him while he is on the road, and at one point purchased a tour bus from Michael Jenkins Inc so that his family could tour with him. He eventually sold the tour bus because of it's depreciating value.
Michael credits his online experience as having helped him learn to play against a wide variety of players, saying “playing online helped me learn how to play against passive and aggressive players. I adjust to many styles of play, so it makes it harder to play against me”.
To date, Michael Mizrachi has earned more than $5,800,800 in live tournament winnings.
