Kasparj Kajaks - A Natural Poker Talent from Latvia

Kaspars Kajaks - $250 Poker Freeroll Winner

Winner of the July 25th $250 Freeroll

Kaspars Kajaks from Latvia

Kaspars Kajaks from Riga, the capital of Latvia, who won our $250 on July 25th 2007 is relatively new to the game of poker.

But that didn't stop him, for example, from learning how to play Badugi (a draw poker variant) in 15 minutes just before entering a tournament and finishing it as runner-up!

777: Kaspars, how long have you been playing poker?

Kaspars: I've been playing poker for almost 2 years now.

777: Do you play online and offline? Which do you play more often?

Kaspars: I only play poker online. Recently I've been trying to play live tournaments and only sometimes with friends for fun (but that doesn't count)

777: You've mentioned Badugi… Is that your favorite poker game now?

Kaspars: I try to play only Texas Holdem No-Limit. I sometimes try Omaha and I also like Badugi.

777: Do you play any casino games too?

Kaspars: Yes, I sometimes play blackjack, roulette and video poker.

777: In poker, do you have a certain playing style or strategy?

Kaspars: Interesting question. I think not, I play in a different way every time; I need to feel the game. If I feel it, I play successfully.

777: What tips can you give other poker players?

Kaspars: Tips? There are no tips, just feelings. I follow my feelings when I play – that's my tip: trust yourself.

777: How many hours a day do you spend playing poker?

Kaspars: It changes, I can play 12 hours in one day and just a few minutes on another day but on average I play 4 hours a day.

777: What other hobbies do you have?

Kaspars: I love nature, fishing, camping, random trips, also clubs and driving all night with my car.
