Winner of the June 29th $300 Freeroll
Zane Streak from South Africa
777: Zane, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Zane: Well, I'm a South African, 22 years old and this game is quite new to us.
777: How long have you been playing poker?
Zane: Let me tell you that in this two years of playing poker I have only held a deck of cards and a stack of chips in my hands once, and it was this month on 12/07/07. I came in a well
respected 7th place out of 72 players (not too bad for a first timer). So 99% of the time I'm online.
777: How long have you been playing online poker?
Zane: I have been playing this game for about 2 years. The first year was just for fun because I really enjoyed the game. After that I came more into it googling the web trying to find
tips, videos, anything that can help my game.
777: What's your favorite poker game?
Zane: Oh, Texes Holden no limit is the best! Just the fact that you can lose it all and that you can bluff a fish right out of a pot.
777: Do you have a certain playing style or strategy?
Zane: Well, I suppose everyone has their own style. Let's put it this way: my playing style does not support cash games. Give me a tourney and my style comes together. I'm a very
tight player and I play quite honestly and then once in a while I'll go on a gut feel. If I get a good starting hand I'll raise the pot and when the flop comes I'll bet quite hefty again,
when I'm in early position. In late position I'll see what the others do and then make my decision - either raise or fold.
777: What tips can you give other players?
Zane: I'll say leave the "play every hand style" and focus more on good to great hands. The A-anything hand as well - fold it! If you want to play an A with a low kicker, make sure they
are suited and that you are in late position - this is not for early position play.
777: How many hours a day do you spend playing poker?
Zane: I used to play every day after work for about 3 or so hours but now I only play about 4 days a week.
777: What other hobbies do you have?
Zane: I'm a keen golfer! Before I started playing poker I was on the golf course almost every day (1 handicap for you who know what a handicap is), but then the poker bug bit me.
